Another reason why the gospel must be preached is because of its inherent powers.  The gospel is God the Father’s message about Jesus Christ declared by the power of the Holy Spirit (cons. 1Thess. 1:5; 1Pet. 1:12).

The revelation of God’s righteousness releases the power that is in the blood of Jesus (Acts 20:28; Rom. 5:9,11; Eph. 1:7; Col. 1:13-14; Heb. 9:18-22),  and then generates the faith that brings the saving grace (Acts 17:1-4; 10:17; Eph. 1:13; 2:8), and goes ahead cleansing and nourishing the believers that continue having fellowship with Him (Jn. 8:31-36; 1 Pet. 2:2; 1Jn. 1:7).

Revelation of God’s righteousness void of His power is a tragedy. So, whenever you stand to preach the gospel to new, or would-be converts, bear in mind that it is not only a time to reveal the righteousness of God but also a time to release His Power that saves (cons. Mk. 16:20; 1 Thess. 1:5).
