Apart from the above three points that the apostle used to introduce what he had for them on eating things sacrificed to idols, he enjoined them to love the Lord, remarking that God recognizes specially those who love Him (1Cor. 8:3).
Love of the Lord is one of the qualities of the true child of God: Him — his person, his name, his word, his house and his work (Deut. 6:4-5; 10:12; 11:1; Josh. 22:5; Ps. 31:23; Matt. 22:37; 2Thes. 3:5; Jude 21).
Those who do not love the Lord are barren, though they may have many other things. They must pray till their hearts are warm with the love of God. Such enjoy special recognition from the Lord among humans (1Cor. 8:3).
