One of the reasons we are commanded to be ware of puffing up through knowledge is the fact that “whatever we know, we know not as we ought to know” (1Cor. 8:2; 13:10-12).

Another reason is the fact that those who have the privilege of having much more knowledge than others were given the privilege by God (1Cor. 4:7 cp. Jas. 1:5,17).

Therefore to puff up and look down on the less privileged is sin, hence God resists such (Jas. 4:6; 1Pet. 5:5).
