BIBLE READING: Ps. 96:1-13
Truly, the race is not for the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise … (Eccl. 9:11).
Not all that were strong, swift or wise experienced it or came into this year. It is not all the men of understanding or of skill of yesterday are still on earth today. But the weak, the poor, the unskilled celebrated the journey into this new year. Obviously it is not by power or might or desire to make it but the mercies of God upon us all (cons. Rom. 9:14-16).
Let the living therefore sing a new song unto the Lord… Let all see that it is God’s doing (Mk. 12:11) to be alive. Think of all that the Lord has done for you in the previous years till present; deliverance, provisions, interventions, etc. and you will see reasons why you must sing a song of thanksgiving and appreciation to God.
As you sing, you will see the greatness of God and His abilities. This will strengthen your heart and faith to see those things which you desired but are yet outstanding as possibilities. Right now, it is time to sing a new song unto the Lord and the Lord will respond in an amazing way that will put assurance in your heart this year.
