REASONS FOR RESPECTING AND CO-OPERATING WITH THOSE SET-UP TO MINISTER TO US

There are many reasons we must not engage in criticisms of those appointed by God to minister to us.

Two of such reasons are found in the arguments of apostle Paul in our text.

(I) the obvious fact that God placed them where they are (1Cor. 9:1-2);

(ii) the fact of their extra-ordinary restrictions sufferings for the work’s sake (1Cor. 9:4-15).

In this regard, many ministers have some testimonies.

Apart from the above there are also the following reasons:- (I) the fact of their labour in the ministry (Phil. 2:29-30; 1Thess. 5:12-13; 1Tim. 5:17; Heb. 13:7,17); (ii) the fact of their responsibility for our eternal well-being (Heb. 13:17).
