What Observing The Wind Means

  • To observe the wind means to allow the weather to determine what one does or how he/she goes. Anyone who wakes up deciding to go to the farm to plant but on coming out of the house looks up to see a heavy black cloud and the wind blowing, would not bother to try moving out but returns to bed to sleep, such a one is observing the wind (cons Pro. 26:13,14).

  • It is waiting for a very convenient time to do a serious business or take a necessary decision (cons. Pro. 24:30-33)

  • Many look for convenient time to give their lives to Christ (Acts 24:24,25; 26:24-28; Matt. 20:16-22) and do their reasonable service to God (Lk. 9:59-62). Many today are not saved. For them they are still young, the environment is not okay, there is still more time, my parents are not helping matters (Jer. 1:5,6).  But the word of God says “Thou art inexcusable …” (Rom. 2:1)

  • Many Christians make wrong choices in selection of their future profession and career. Some are scared of venturing into their passion for fear of the unknown, anticipated anxiety, low ambition, lack of a right and winning fighting spirit, laziness etc.  These constitute the wind that they are observing (cons. Pro. 26:13,14; Num. 13:26-29,31-33).  Most Christians in academic pursuit are devoid of knowledge and of course power because they seek convenience and comfort before they study.
