In the time of the Lord’s earthly ministry, He observed that the moribund generation was by  inclination drowning in severe spiritual apathy and dullness (Matt. 11:16-19).

Furthermore, the people of God were worse of, being less skillful and thoughtful of things pertaining to their calling (cons. Lk. 16:8).

The same situation holds today, as the children of the kingdom generally choose to be dull to their things ie things of the kingdom and so pave no way for improvement (Hos. 4:6).
