Why are we required to travel long distance just to collect letter, if I want to marry from there, while the letter can be emailed or sent electronically.

Why are we required to travel long distance just to collect letter, if I want to marry from there, while the letter can be emailed or sent electronically.
We've heard of people who had accidents because they were making trips to far distances for their marriage processes while it could have been averted by just sending mails.

Where it is necessary to send emails, we will try to do that, but at times the people needing the letter might want to see the said person.
