Why is it that the Marriage Committee does not conduct investigations

Why is it that the Marriage Committee does not conduct investigations e.g. to know if the claim of having an apartment, made by the brother, is true, etc

The number of persons in the committee does not allow for such investigation but once we have more members, we will start that. Also, they believe most people coming are Watchmen and should not tell lies.
